Tea by the window
I’ve claimed the cushion by the window again. The light falls right across my notebook here, and my tea is close enough that I can reach it without putting down my pencil. A very important arrangement.
Chamomile with a little honey for me. I meant one little spoonful. The honey had other ideas.

There’s quiet guitar playing, and I keep losing my place in the nicest way. A few notes, a sip, a look out of the window. You can put your notebook beside mine. I’ve left you the good pencil.
Small things worth keeping
I sat down thinking I had nothing much to write about. Then I noticed the little heart on my cup. I’ve used it so many times, but I don’t think I’ve ever drawn it.
So that’s where this page began. A lopsided cup, the warm patch on the floor, and a pastry with considerably more detail than the rest of the drawing. I seem to have my priorities.

I like that an ordinary day can leave something behind. Sometimes it’s a whole story. Sometimes it’s just “the tea was especially good.” That counts in my notebook.
A little space on your page
What small, ordinary thing would you like to remember?
I’m keeping the heart on my cup. Yours might be something you noticed, something someone said, or a familiar little comfort. What detail would bring it back to you?
A few words or a small sketch will fit quite nicely beside mine.
I’m leaving the music on while I finish this corner of the page. You’re welcome to stay with your notebook open, too.
Oh, and if you draw your cup, I’d love to know whether the handle gives you as much trouble as mine.
